Cape Town is one of three cities on the fiercely contested shortlist for World Design Capital 2014. Watch the video and see why Cape Town should be the globe’s premier design destination in 2014.
The World Design Capital award recognises the excellence of design work within the city’s creative community how the city uses design to improve the lives of all its residents.
The other cities on the shortlist for 2014 are Bilbao in Spain and Dublin in Ireland, and Capetonians are waiting with bated breath for the judges’ final decision which will be announced on 26 October 2011.

Hi
Can you please tell me who painted the message in the top photo? The artwork behind it is mine and the wall painted is a wall I got permission to paint. I dont appreciate it being gone over in such a sloppy way and then being put up on the internet, ecspecially in relation to the world design capital campaign.
Great video – very inspiring but also explains very well that WDC 2014 is just one moment in our journey and the journey will continue.
@ NARD
Hi, I’ve asked around but no one has any idea who painted over your artwork.
Interesting and positive video, thought the whole oppression of the past thing was a negative way to start the story of CPT design, and unnecessary to the central message of the story. Interesting people interviewed.
Hey, @Nard, that stuff on top of your work is so ordinary!
GO CAPE TOWN !!!
